July 15th & 16th  Salsa Festival on The Fillmore:  Closing off three city blocks on Fillmore, The Salsa Festival features free concerts, salsa lessons and outdoor dancing at the Fillmore Center Plaza.  Read more at: www.salsafestivalfillmore.com

July 16th & 17th  The Renegade Craft Fair:  The best makers of handmade goods from the Bay Area and beyond assemble for this free-to-attend marketplace for indie-craft culture, featuring interactive workshops. Read more at:  www.renegadecraft.com

July 17th  Aids Walk: This annual walk to raise funds for the San Francisco AIDS foundation has inspired thousands of people to walk and donate in support of fighting HIV/AIDS. Read more at: www.aidswalk.net/sanfran

July 22nd – 24th  J-Pop Summit Festival: Held at Fort Mason Center, Union Square, New People Cinema and Castro Theatre.  This Japanese popular summer festival is in its seventh year, the J-POP extravaganza will expand to Fort Mason Center as well as Union Square this year, presenting another lively two-day program jam-packed with music, fashion and fine foods. July 23rd – 31st  Japan Film Festival of San Francisco: Held atNew People Cinema, 1746 Post St. Japan Film Festival of San Francisco is the first and only fully dedicated annual Japanese film event in the Bay Area. Showcasing the latest in anime, live-action and documentaries straight from Japan, this week-long festival takes place in San Francisco’s historic Japantown. Read more at: www.jffsf.org

July 31st  San Francisco Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk: Starting at the Ferry Building on The Embarcadero. Enjoy the amazing city of San Francisco by taking part in one of the world’s great marathons, the USAT&F Certified course is a “best of San Francisco” tour and includes a loop over the Golden Gate Bridge. Choose from running the marathon, half marathon, progressive marathon, 5K run/walk races or take on the challenge with the “Worth the Hurt” 52.4 double marathon. Read more at: www.thesfmarathon.com

July 31st  Up Your Alley Fair: Similar to the Folsom Street Fair, this event has a more local appeal for leather folk and draws some 12,000+ attendees. Held in Dore Alley between Folsom and Howard and adjoining block of Folsom Street between Ninth and 10th streets. Read more at: www.jffsf.org
